The Anthropocene is a new geologic epoch that is marked by the actions of humans in the annals of the world. When future stratigraphers look back they will see the fossils of our cities, the industrialization of our agriculture, and our relentless consumption of natural resources.

This is a new epoch. One that will be defined by the consequences of our actions and the care of our thoughts. Acknowledging ourselves as a force of change on the geologic scale is both paralyzing and empowering.
“ANTHROPO/CENE” explores artifacts of our current world in hopes of promoting a shift in perspective of our effect on the geologic history of this planet.

Several wavelengths of light are captured in this remote sensing satellite image. From thermal to near infrared, the visible spectrum among others are combined to create a landscape humans would otherwise be unable to see.
